RESTAURANT – CAFE IN DE WAAG  1996 – 2011

This astonishing building, in the middle of the Nieuwmark square, was build in 1488 as one of the gates to the city of Amsterdam. Throughout the centuries the building has had many different functions.

Since 1996 Restaurant-Cafe In de Waag is situated on the ground floor of the building. This is why we celebrate our 15-year anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone we have had these beautiful plates designed. The plate shows a drawing, which is a copy of painting drawn around 1880. Unfortunately the painter is unknown.

The plates are for sale for €19,50. They make a great gift or souvenir! If you are interested, please ask any of our staff.
